Kelly Bundy

You know, I have to say, I think of Kim Kardashian as being refreshingly non-racist, although I don't know if she identifies herself as white. Her ex-husband is black.

(BTW, thanks for the warning about repeditive bass.)

While the possibility of miscegenation almost definitely exacerbates the issue, the idea that men should protect women from sex dates back hundreds of years. Indeed, the offense of rape was originally considered a crime against property.

That being said, what slave master wasn't terrified of the idea of his daughter indulging herself in the strapping, well-hung, blue-black field slave?

Re: Kim Kardashian
Her father is Armenian. (I couldn't be bothered to hunt down information about her mother.) Armenia is located in the Southern Caucasus, near Iran. This explains her Caucasian / Middle Eastern looks. Based on that, I would consider her "white."

Incidentally, her new boyfriend is also black. While that may make her "non-racist," it might instead show she objectifies blacks as sexual. I don't see how that's necessarily non-racist; is it non-racist to *only* watch black male / white female porn?

Re: identification of race
Identifying the race of another is fraught with problems. Do anti-black individuals in Alabama care that he's mostly Asian? Is it racist to suggest that Woods might need additional security on a trip through Alabama (i.e., a nonracist incorrectly identifying Woods by his skin color)?

Is it racist for a doctor to consider a patient's racial background when diagnosing the patient?

I'm sorry I didn't expound further there to ward off attack.

The reason I made the point about her ex-husband, who she was married to for a number of years, because generally you are not marrying someone based on a racial fetish that you have. In general. Some people might, but most don't. I think that there is proof the in pudding as far as that goes in that marriage is still one (of the many) extremeley racially segregated aspects of our society when it comes to blacks and whites.

It is true that identification of race is often a psycological game, as your statements suggest. Note that I also said "identifies herself." I'm sure there are many that identify her as white, although I'm not sure I would upon first glance. Of course that doesn't mean she can't discrimnate against black people. But considering her marriage and her longterm relationship with a black man, as well as an even longer-term friendship with his sister, Brandy, I think she is less racist than most people. And I think it's great--definitely not something to hate on, even for the more cynical.
